Here is today’s list of food safety recalls, product withdrawals, allergy alerts and miscellaneous compliance issues. The live links will take you directly to the official recall notices and company news releases that contain detailed information for each recall and alert.

United States

  • Allergy Alert: Hong Lee Trading Inc. (Brooklyn, NY) recalls Peacock Brand Preserved Apricots (330g/10.6-oz uncoded clear plastic container; Product of Vietnam), after the product was determined to contain undeclared sulfites.

Canada

  • Food Safety Recall: Domenic’s Fish Market recalls Marlin (Bulk; Product received April 3rd and 4th, 2012), due to the presence of histamine in the product. The recalled product was distributed in Ontario.
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Safety Recall: Vita Health Products recalls Compliments Extra Strength Acetaminophen Gelcaps, 500mg (bottles of 120 gelcaps; Lot Nos. 1B01829H9, 1B01929H9, 1E1742EGG, 1I10102GMB, and 1K1672KME; Expiry dates Oct 2012 (first and second lot numbers), Feb 2013, June 2013 and Sept 2013, respectively), because the packaging suggests the product is child resistant but the product has been packaged with a non child resistant cap.
