United States

  • Food Safety Recall: Sysco Seattle Inc. (Seattle, WA), recalls Prime Rib Beef Patties, 8 oz (10 lb boxes; Product code 55317; Production code 11 NO 22) and Prime Rib Beef Patties, 71g (10 lb boxes; Product code 55391; Production codes 11 SE 01 and 12 JA 04), due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. The recalled products were produced by New Food Classics (Burlington, ON, Canada) and imported by Sysco for distribution to restaurants in Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Washington.
  • Food Safety Alert: Washington State Fish & Wildlife seized shipments of Geoducks (large, long-necked clams) that may have been improperly or unsafely harvested, according to a report on King5News. Most of the 3,500 pounds of seized shellfish will likely be destroyed due to lack of proper documentation.
